Name Label Value Packs vs Individual Labels: Which Should You Buy?
Posted by Agata k on
A name label value pack is usually the easiest choice when you need labels for several types of school belongings. Individual labels may be more suitable when you only need one specific type, already have labels left or are replacing a few items during the year.
Your time matters too. You can compare every item and label type carefully, or choose a value pack that covers most school essentials in one convenient order.
When Is a Name Label Value Pack the Better Choice?
A name label value pack is usually the most convenient option when your child is starting nursery or school, or when you are preparing for a new school year.
A value pack includes different label sizes and formats for items such as uniform, PE kit, shoes, books, stationery, lunch boxes and school bags. This means you can label most belongings in one go without choosing every label type separately.
Larger value packs can also provide spare labels for replacement clothing, new shoes and other items purchased later in the year.
For help choosing between the available options, read our guide to the Best Back-to-School Name Label Packs for Nursery and School.
What If You Just Want the Easiest Option?
Making a detailed list can help you avoid buying labels you do not need, but parents are busy and may not want to spend time counting every item or comparing each label type separately.
If you want a simple option that covers a wide range of school belongings, a larger name label value pack may be the most convenient choice.
At the time of writing, the Classic Super Pack costs £19.99 and the Colour Super Pack costs £24.99. These packs offer the best value for money when considering the number and variety of labels included.
You may not use every label immediately, but spare labels can be useful throughout the year when clothing, shoes, stationery or lunch items need replacing.
When Are Individual Labels the Better Choice?
Individual labels can be a practical choice for older pupils who no longer need labels for a large collection of stationery or school equipment.
Clothing, footwear and bags are still important to label. Uniform, PE kit, trainers and school shoes can easily be confused with similar items during PE, swimming or sports, while a clearly labelled school or sports bag is easier to identify and return if it is misplaced.
Our Clothing Labels, Shoe Labels and Bag Tags are available in Classic and Colour options, allowing you to choose a discreet design or something more distinctive and easier to recognise.
If these are the main items you need to label, ordering them individually may be more suitable than buying a full value pack.
Can You Combine a Value Pack with Individual Labels?
Yes. A value pack may cover most of your child’s belongings, while individual labels can be added if they have a particularly large number of one type of item.
For example, a pupil who enjoys art may need extra labels for pencils, pens, paintbrushes and other supplies. You could add Classic Wrap-Around Pen and Pencil Labels or Colour Wrap-Around Pen and Pencil Labels if the quantity included in the value pack is not enough.
This allows you to begin with a broad selection of labels and add more only where needed.
Which Option Should You Choose?
Choose a Classic Name Label Value Pack or Colour Name Label Value Pack if you need several label types, are preparing for a new school year or want the easiest all-in-one option.
Choose Classic Individual Name Labels or Colour Individual Name Labels if you only need one specific label type, are replacing a few items or already have labels left.
You can also combine both by starting with a value pack and adding extra individual labels where needed.
